Design

8+ years experience working as a designer since leaving my first career behind, travelling the world and going back to study design.

I've solved many design challenges over these years and learned a lot while running workshops, dealing directly with clients & stakeholders, presenting my solutions to them and improving my design skills. I love passing this knowledge on and helping others grow.

Research

5+ years working in UX. I've conducted countless user interviews, usability tests, surveys and worked with large data sets. I am leading our user research initiative at Lingvist - building a research strategy, conducting more research and helping others improve their research skills.

3 years working in customer care - looking for patterns in common issues, empathising with customers & improving processes. Over the last 5 years I've been applying these skills and more, working in UX.

Business

10+ years running a record label, Lunar Disko. Since 2008 we’ve released a consistent output of music - 33 EPs and 2 LPs so far. Working with artists, digital & physical distributors and improving processes to maximise profits.

To further my business know-how, I recently completed a 6 week intensive business course for designers - d.MBA. I am excited to apply competitor analysis, the blue ocean strategy, prototyping with numbers and more to my next endeavours.

How I (like to) work:

1. Understand

What problem are we trying to solve and for whom?

Do we fully understand the problem or does it require further research?

2. Define

What value are we creating for users by solving this problem?

What business metrics are we looking to improve?

3. Design

What do we need to create to test our assumptions?

Rough sketches or high fidelity prototype?

4. Test

How can we validate our assumptions?

Usability test? AB test? Interviews? Survey? All of the above?

5. Release

How soon can we release?

Perfection is the enemy of done, right?

6. Repeat

What have we learned during the process?

How can we keep improving?
